Crossroads and 8 Mile star Taryn Manning feels she has been hustled by the producer of her Hustle & Flow movie - because she's still awaiting payment. The actress, who played a desperate hooker in the acclaimed 2005 movie, claims she's still waiting to get paid after agreeing to make the small film for next to nothing.
She tells Stuff magazine, "The one thing that sucked was that our contracts weren't really honored by John Singleton (producer). He hired actors who were willing to work for scale and take their back-end points (profits). Then the movie sold at Sundance (Film Festival) for all this money, and we really just got nothing.
"Everyone thinks I'm so loaded from Hustle & Flow, and it's such a joke because the guy completely d**ked us over.
He (Singleton) made a comment: 'They all have careers now because of me.' Yeah, (co-star) Terrence Howard has an incredible career now because of you, but the rest of us? We were kind of looking forward to that paycheck." (ICYDK)
