Macy Gray admits her drug taking, arrogance and paranoia was the reason behind her split with her record company in 2004.
Gray and her record company Sony parted ways after her third album "The Trouble With Being Myself," released in 2003, failed to sell.
She explains, "I wasn't keeping in touch with people who really did care for me. I believe in God and I think it was his way of doing it. "Looking back, maybe I needed that. And, you know, if I'd kept going, I might be this horrible person - shaving my head, or in rehab or some s**t like that."(Source)
