Beyonce has had two years to reflect upon her sizzling duet with Prince to open the 2004 Grammy Awards --and she is now mortified.
In Bey's mind, their performance was overpowered by "Sasha," the name she has given to her sassier alter-ego.
"I saw that I didn't even give [Prince] the mic," she laments to Contact Music. "It was supposed to be in the middle, not in front of my mouth. Sasha just took over."
Beyonce says she was able to properly contain Sasha during performances as a member of the group Destiny's Child, but as a solo artist, it's harder to keep her uninhibited stage persona on a leash.
"I just know when to be quiet and let other people shine," she said. "[In the past] I didn't think it was appropriate to let Sasha out." |
