According to TMZ, Denver PD has launched an investigation into whether several officers acted inappropriately by giving recently-arrested Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony a ride to a hotel after his fiancee refused to come pick him up. When you're popped for DUI in Denver, the law says cops take you to detox or release you to a "sober, responsible party." After the bust, cops took Melo to a local hospital for a blood test. The CW2 reports that's when they called his baby mama La La to come get him -- she said no way. Instead of taking him to their other option -- detox -- a sergeant personally took Anthony in his police cruiser to the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in downtown Denver, where he was staying. A police spokesperson says the officer went "above and beyond through a personal relationship" and there wasn't "anything wrong" with what he did. But it doesn't end there ... Another cop drove Anthony's $130,000 sick silver Mercedes to a safe place -- a police parking lot -- so he could come back later and pick it up. What's supposed to happen is the car is towed to an impound yard, but apparently the cops didn't want Melo's ride to get vandalized.

According to Singersroom.com, R&B singer Whitney Houston recently turned her life around and she refuses to let anyone destroy her hard work, not even her ex-husband Bobby Brown.

In his latest venture, Bobby Brown is trying desperately to release his Bravo reality show "Being Bobby Brown" on DVD, but Houston, who appeared heavily in the series and seemed to be under the influence during most of the filming, refuses to sign the papers.

"Whitney blames the show for ruining her career and she won't sign off on the contract to release the DVD," Brown tells In Touch magazine. "There's a lot of money to be made, but, because she won't cooperate, we'll never see it. I have a serious problem with that because it affects my income."

R&B singer Toni Braxton has been forced to cancel another four shows as she battles a mystery illness, reports Contactmusic.

As Singersroom previously reported, Braxton was admitted to St. Rose Dominican Hospital at the beginning of the week after experiencing an unknown illness.

Braxton, 40, was released on Tuesday (April 8) and is recuperating at home in Las Vegas. She is said to be in good condition.

According to Us Weekly, Solange visited their New York offices on Wednesday but played coy when asked about the recent big event in her life: sister Beyonce's wedding.

Does Beyonce like being married? "I have no idea!" she responded.

Solange attended Beyonce and Jay-Z's hush-hush nuptials in NYC Friday night, Us Weekly reports in its latest issue, on newsstands now.
When complimented about the skirt she wore to the wedding, she only replied, "It was a cute dress."

Was it a fun night? "What night are you talking about?" she replied. "Friday? Hmm. Friday. I really don't [know]."

According to People, Grammy-winning singer Toni Braxton is in "good condition" after being admitted to a Las Vegas hospital for chest pains Monday night, says a spokeswoman for a hotel-casino where the singer has been performing.

The singer, 40, is expected to be released from the St. Rose Dominican Hospital on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Flamingo Hotel-Casino rep. She has been headlining her live show "Toni Braxton: Revealed" five days a week at the Flamingo since 2006.

Actress Gabrielle Union is suing two men for invasion of privacy, after they posted a fake job advertisement looking for an assistant for the star. The two defendants, from Georgia, are alleged to have advertised the job of executive assistant on listings website Craigslist.com, claiming they were acting on Union's behalf.

UCLA Medical Center will fire some employees and discipline others for snooping at the confidential medical records of Britney Spears, who was hospitalized in its psychiatric ward, a hospital official told The Associated Press.

The hospital did not say when the snooping took place or which of Spears records were looked at.

The newspaper said more than 13 employees, none of whom are doctors, would be fired. Twelve others, including several doctors, will be disciplined otherwise for looking at her computerized records, it reported.

This is not the first time the hospital has had to reprimand employees for looking at Spears' records. Several workers were fired after they were caught snooping after Spears gave birth to her first son, Sean Preston, in September 2005. (story via Starpulse News)

According to TMZ, Aretha says a mistake by her lawyer over $445 in 2005 taxes and late fees caused her $700,000 mansion to slip into foreclosure. According to court documents, the big-boned singer owes $19,192 in back taxes.

She says she plans to pay up and reclaim the mansion by the March 31 deadline. A call to Aretha's rep was not immediately returned.

According to TMZ, Britney's new lawyer, Stacy Phillips, argued that K-Fed's lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan's fees are excessive, saying that four months of fees for both sides added up to a whopping $900,000.

The Post reports that the show's fourteen contestants trashed the $6 million Tribeca loft they lived in for ten weeks:

"These girls not only destroyed the floors, it appears they had food fights. There's ketchup and coffee splattered all over the landlord's $20,000 white drapes. There's lipstick on the walls," said the insider. "They moved in furniture and made holes all along the walls."

MARIO WINANS is reportedly refusing to support his three-year-old son, according to his ex-lover Janell Bennett.

Bennett, who was in an eight-year relationship with Winans before she had her son Jordan, claims she was removed from her family home in Miami, Florida because Winans refused to pay child support. The surprise eviction has apparently left the cocktail waitress "homeless and living with friends on the south side of Chicago".

Two years ago the single mother was caught up in a legal battle with the music producer to prove he was the father of her son. DNA reports came back positive, and Winans was ordered to pay Bennett $4,500 per month in child support.

Bennett tells the New York Post's PageSix, "He hasn't paid me. I just wanted support, and I was on disability and Medicaid and welfare just to have the baby. "He stopped paying last year... by the end of August 2007, I lost the house and moved to Chicago... I just want him to do right by Jordan... It would be so simple for him to call me so we could work something out."

Andy McDonald, a security guard at the Aberdeen Exhibition Centre, where Rihanna performed on Monday Feb. 3, said: "We were taking precautions over a potential accident. We were told Rihanna's song features dancing with umbrellas on stage. We didn't want the crowd following her actions and someone getting their eye poked out."

The decision follows reports of several injuries caused by umbrella-related incidents during Rihanna's recent European dates.

One fan due to attend one of the singer's upcoming shows said: "I was really looking forward to whipping out my umbrella during the song. I have been practicing the routine for weeks but it has all been for nothing."

R&B singer Kelly Rowland, who came to fame as a member of the international superstar group Destiny's Child, will re-issue her latest album 'Ms. Kelly' with a new name and several edgy tracks.

Ms. Kelly, debuted at number two on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, and at number 6 on the Billboard 200 album chart, with first week sales of 83,800 copies (almost 7,000 plus than her first album Simply Deep); making it Rowland's first domestic top 10 album.

A rep from SonyBMG, Rowland's record label, tells Singersroom that the re-released digital album will be branded with the name "Diva Deluxe," and it will be ready for sale march 25. The lead track will be "Daylight" featuring Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes.

Queen of R&B Whitney Houston will begin her comeback campaign with a performance at the Caudwell Children's Legend Ball at Battersea Evolution in London on May 8.

"We are thrilled to have an artist of Whitney's caliber to headline the event," the charity's founder, John Caudwell, told Marie Claire UK. "Last year was a huge success and with Whitney's support, we are fully expecting this year's event to be bigger and better than ever." Last year, Tina Turner headlined the benefit and helped the organization raise more than $2.4 million.

The group believes Houston's stature will help surpass this figure. The May performance will be the 44-year-old music legend's first performance since she sang on December 1, 2006 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
